General Software Embedded DOS is provided free of charge on single board computers that use the General Software BIOS. This combination provides an inexpensive, easily configured runtime environment. The interface to the operating system is very similar to that of MSDOS. 

Microsoft MSDOS is the world-wide standard 16-bit PC-compatible operating system. MSDOS is widely used in disk-based embedded systems where full DOS compatibility is needed.
