Windows XP and DOS have 1 thing in common. They are both operating systems. Before Windows 95 was released, you pretty much needed DOS to run your Intel-based computer. You didn't actually need Windows like you do now. 

Resources - A broad term. Each individual computer has it's own resources. Resources include data, memory, storage, processing power & video rendering. Many other devices are considered resources like servers, printers, scanners, cd-roms, routers & switches. 

Note: If you are looking for the requirements to run Windows XP it probably means you are considering an upgrade to XP. I don't recommend doing that on a machine with Windows 98. Just buy a new computer with XP already on it. You will be much better off. Dell has computers for $300 dollars and up.

Take note of 2 things. 1) D:\ is the drive letter where my profile is located. 2) Administrator is the profile I am currently using. The drive letter or username are probably different for you. You need the correct directory information from your computer to find the data contained in your profile.
